Jesus Claimed To Be God

Jesus claims to be God

Matt 1:22
All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 23 “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”). Isaiah 7:14

...John 1:1 & 14
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… 14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

John 5:16
So, because Jesus was doing these things on the Sabbath, the Jewish leaders began to persecute him. In his defense Jesus said to them, “My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working.” For this reason they tried all the more to kill him; not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.

John 8:57
“You are not yet fifty years old,” they said to him, “and you have seen Abraham!”
“Very truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I am!” At this, they picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus hid himself, slipping away from the temple grounds.
See Exodus 3:14 God told Moses “I am that I am” and Jesus claimed the same

John 10:30
I and the Father are one. Again his Jewish opponents picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus said to them, “I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?” “We are not stoning you for any good work,” they replied, “but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God.”

John 13:12
When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them. “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am

John 13:19
“I am telling you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe that I am who I am.

John 20:27
Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.” Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”

Jesus is declared to be God.

2 Corinthians 4:6
For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.

2 Corinthians 4:4
The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life. 17 Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

1Timothy 3:16
Beyond all question, the mystery of godliness is great: God appeared in the flesh, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory.

Titus 2:13
While we wait for the blessed hope—the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ,

Hebrews 1:2-12
But in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe. 3 The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. 4 So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.
5 For to which of the angels did God ever say,
“You are my Son; today I have become your Father”? Or again, “I will be his Father and he will be my Son”?
6 And again, when God brings his firstborn into the world, he says, “Let all God’s angels worship him.”
7 In speaking of the angels he says,
“He makes his angels winds, his servants’ flames of fire.”
8 But about the Son he says,
“Your throne, O God, will last forever and ever, and righteousness will be the scepter of your kingdom.9 you have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.”
10 He also says,
“In the beginning, O Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.11 they will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment.12 you will roll them up like a robe; like a garment they will be changed. But you remain the same, and your years will never end.”

Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

1 John 5:7
For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. (KJV)

1John 5:20
We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true—even in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

Revelation 1:17
When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. 18 I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.

Revelation 2:8
“To the angel of the church in Smyrna write:
These are the words of him who is the First and the Last, who died and came to life again.

Revelation 5:12
In a loud voice they sang:
“Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain,
to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength
and honor and glory and praise!”
13 Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing:
“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be praise and honor and glory and power,
for ever and ever!”

Revelation 19:16
On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

Revelation 21:6
He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life.

Or put another way:

Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation. for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can't see--such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together.” – Colossians 1:15-17

I and the Father are one." – John 10:30

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, MIGHTY GOD, EVERLASTING FATHER, Prince of Peace.” – Isaiah 9:6

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men.” – John 1:1-4

“"Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last.” – Jesus, in Revelation 1:17 ((compare with Isaiah 44:6))

"This is what the LORD says--Israel's King and Redeemer, the LORD Almighty: I AM THE FIRST AND THE LAST; apart from me there is no God.” Isaiah 44:6
Jesus said, "Before Abraham was, I AM!" He was saying that He has always existed, lining up with the Old Testament when God told Moses to say to the children of Israel that, "I AM has sent me to you." (John 8:54-58)

When Thomas finally saw Jesus after the resurrect
ion, he fell to his knees and cried out, "My Lord and my God!" Jesus said, "You believe because you have seen. Blessed are those who believe and have not seen." (John 20:26-29)

When he forgave people of their sins, the unbelieving Jews grumbled amongst themselves and thought that only God (who was standing in their midst) could forgive sins. Jesus is holy, and eternal, so He has the power to forgive people of their sin. (Luke 5:18-21)

I believe it was Philip who said, "Lord, show us the Father, and it will be enough for us." Jesus said, "If you've seen Me, then you've seen the Father."(John 14:8-11)

"And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory." - 1 Timothy 3:16

It sure sounds like The Bible teaches that Jesus is God.
